Swami Kumar Ji releases Bhajan Malla

JAMMU, Mar 4: Bhajan Malla a devotional book of 150 Kashmiri Bhajans (Leela) of prominent Bhakti poets was released by Swami Kumar Ji at Geeta Satsang Ashram Muthi on the occasion of Maha Shivratri near here, today.
The function was also attended by Pt Omkar Nath Shastri, Sampadak Vijeshwar Panchang, Ramesh Hangloo, president, Pir Panchal and honorary director, Radio Sharda, Bushan Lal Jyotshi, Jyotshi Avtar Krishan of Vijeshwar Panchang.
The Book has been compiled by Jyotshi Avtar Krishan Shastri who in his welcome address said that the book will be distributed free of cost in all the Ashrams. Besides, the Bhajan Malla, Chaleesa Sangreh containing Shiv Chaleesa, Hanuman Chaleesa, Mata Chaleesa and Shani Chaleesa were also released.
Speaking on the occasion, Swami Kumar Ji said compiling 150 Kashmiri bhajans of prominent devotional poets in a single book form is a great contribution of A K Shastri as these Bhajans had become obsolete after the mass exodus of the community and younger generations were not knowing any thing about the same.
He appealed the people to link their children to roots and urged Jyotshi to bring these bhajans in audio form also so that they can reach every house hold and the younger generation can also be attracted to them.
Pt Omkar Nath Shastri in his address said that after exodus the community has lost its moorings and the younger generation has gone astray from its culture and age old traditions. He said the need of the hour is the community thinkers should ponder over the same and find out remedial measures so that the younger generation is brought closer to its age old rich culture and traditions.
