JAMMU, May 11: Swanzal Foundation, a socio art, cultural and educational society, under the aegis of Loomba Foundation today held a function at Surya Bhawan to distribute scholarship to under privileged and needy children.
The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Jammu, AK Sahu was chief guest, who distributed the scholarship cheques received from Loomba Foundation to around 70 needy children, who attended the function along with their parents or guardians.
While speaking on the occasion, the DDC appreciated the role of Loomba Foundation for such global cause and stressed that more and more deserving children be brought under scholarship ambit.
The chief guest also applauded the role of Swanzal Foundation and the event organizers for bringing awareness in the society. He wished every success to both the NGO’s.
Dr KL Choudhary, who was the guest of honour, wished every success to the NGO’s and suggested that wider publicity needs to be given, so that more deserving or needy children are benefited with the scholarship.
MK Yogi, president, Surya Bhawan, was also present on this occasion.
Swanzal Foundation was represented on the occasion by renowned theatre, media and music personalities of the State including Bihari Kak, Vijay Dhar, Ravi Kachroo , Kuldeep Saproo, Sahiba Bhat, Jitinder Jotshi, Virender Raina, Rakesh Mirza, Kamal Ganjoo and a social activist Veena Ji besides other members of the society.
The Function concluded with colourful dance item presented by children, which was choreographed by Ajay Raina, Dance Director of the NGO.
