JAMMU, Nov 19: Employees of ICDS projects of the State Social Welfare Department are without salary for the last more than five months.
Not only Anganwadi workers and Helpers of the Anganwadi Centres but the supervisors, clerical staff and other officials of the projects are also without salary since June this year. While these helpless workers are projecting their issues before the concerned CDPOs and Programme Officers, the concerned officers maintain that their issue has been brought to the notice of Director Social Welfare.
In view of non-payment of their wages, these employees in a joint representation have stated that they are now left with the only option to launch indefinite strike as they are unable to feed their families under such circumstances. They also flayed the Director Social Welfare and the minister concerned Sakina Itoo for their failure to run the affairs of the department properly.
