SRINAGAR, Sept 7: Syed Tajuddin FC and Musuada Foundation FC emerged winners by defeating their opponents including Young Iqbal FC and Shehr-e-Khas FC by two goals to nil (2-0) and five goals to 2 (5-2) respectively in the ongoing DFA Srinagar Annual Football League tournament, being played at Synthetic Turf TRC, here today.
The 1st match of the tournament was played between Syed Tajuddin FC and Young Iqbal FC. Both the teams played quality games and missed some good chances but in the 19th minute of the 1st half, Sanjeev of Syed Tajuddin FC scored a magnificent goal and maintained its lead over the opponents. However, Young Iqbal FC tried for the equalizer but failed to find the net.
In the 34th minute of the game, Syed Tajuddin FC consolidated its lead by scoring another goal through Irfan. The young turks of Young Iqbal FC tried their utmost to find the net but could not penetrate the solid defence of Syed Tajuddin FC. Thus, Syed Tajuddin FC defeated Young Iqbal FC by 2 goals to nil.
The 2nd match was played between Musuada Foundation FC and Shehr-e-Khas FC. Right from the start, both the teams played aggressive Football to find net but in 10 minute of the play, Shehr-e-Khas FC opened an account through Munees Ahmad but the team could not hold the lead and Owais of Musuada Foundation FC opened the account for his team and scored back to back three goals in 15th, 20th and 25th minutes of the game, whereas Faizan Fayaz scored 4th goal for his team-Musuada Foundation FC.
The second half also witnessed intense clashes between the forwards and defenders of the two teams. In the 45th minute of the play, Faizan Fayaz scored fifth goal for Musuada Foundation FC and maintained a big lead over their opponents but in the last minutes of the match, Shehr-e- Khas FC players tried their best to score second goal for his team and the match ended with 5-2 goals in favour of Musuada Foundation FC.
The tournament is being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Football Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council.
