UDHAMPUR, Feb 13: The Department of Information & Public Relations, Udhampur organized a   symposium on the topic “Environmental Pollution” in the premises of Anand Bhartiya Vidyalaya, Ban Rathian, here today.
Principal of the School, Ritu Abrol was the chief guest on the occasion.
As many as 19 students participated in the contest and depicted their serious concern over the increasing environmental pollution and stressed for the conservation of our environment for the survival of human being.
Shivangi was adjudged first while Neha and Shriya stood 2nd and 3rd respectively. Sourav  and Sahil bagged consolation prizes.
While speaking on the occasion, Principal appreciated efforts of Information Department to hold such contest in the rural areas. She said that such type of contest would definitely provide a platform to budding students to channelize their talent in right direction.  Mrs. Abrol urged the department to organize such more programmes in the near future also.
On the occasion, a film show on save the girl child was also screened by the Information Department to highlight the importance of generating awareness among the masses regarding the negative social impact of declining sex ratio.
Meanwhile, the cultural items were also tastefully presented by students of the host school received repeated applause by the audience.
Later, chief guest also distributed prizes and certificates among the participants of the contest.
Jiwan Singh, Yash Kumar and Arti Devi  acted as judges while Jai Kumar conducted the proceeding of the programme.
Chairman of the school, KL Abrol, staff members,  large number of people of the area and students were present on the occasion.
