Symposium on tobacco hazards held

REASI, Mar 6: A symposium was organized at cluster level in zone Pound on the topic harmful effects of smoking cigarette and chewing tobacco at Government Middle School (GMS) Talwara, here.
Zonal Education Officer Pound, Harish Kumar Dubey was the chief guest on the occasion.
Ten students from different schools including MS Kolsar, MS Jerri, MS Kans Brahmna, MS Talwara and Public Model Public School participated in the symposium.
Mohit Sharma from GMS Kans Brahmna and Priya Dogra GMS Kolsar secured 1st and 2nd position respectively, while 3rd position was shared by Parshotam Kumar GMS Talwara, Shifali Verma MS Jerri and Tarun Singh MS Beri Lair.
Daleep Sharma, ZRP and Mohinder Dass, CRP were the adjudicators of the symposium. Chief guest while speaking on the occasion stressed upon the students to remain away from drug addiction in general, smoking and chewing of tobacco in particular, as these bad habits enter in the young age.
Earlier, Sanjeev Sharma CRP threw light on the aims and objectives of the programme, while Mohd Arif, teacher MS Talwara conducted the proceedings of the programme. Students and teachers including Mohinder Dass CRP Teyote, Sanjeev Sharma CRP Talwara, Preeti Sharma, teacher MS Kolsar and Arti Sharma, teacherr MS Talwara spoke on the occasion, besides Mohinder Dass recited a poem on topic.
1st 2nd and 3rd prizes were also distributed among the participating students.
Sunita Sharma, senior teacher and in-charge of the school presented vote of thanks on the occasion.
