JAMMU, June 13: Syrah Dewan defeated Alena Arora and clinched her maiden Under-11 girls title here today in the 1st J&K Ranking Table Tennis Championship 2024. Syrah defeating Alena Arora by 3-0 in the final. In the boys (U-11) final Saiyam Nischel beat Aarav Gandotra by 3-1 and lifted the title.
In the girls (U-13) final witnessed the most anticipated clash between the siblings Myrah & Syrah. The match saw some nail biting moments when in the initial phase of the match the spirited younger sibling Syrah went on to take the lead by 2 games to nil but Myrah held her nerves and came back strongly not only to level the game score but also winning the final game by 12-10 and the title showdown by 3-2.
In the boys (U-13) semi finals Saiyam beat Ishan by 3-1 and Samar beat Ahaan by 3-2 to take on each other for the all important final. The results were Under 11 Boys (Semi Finals) Saiyam beat Akshaj by 3-0 and Aarav beat Pratyaksh by 3-0. In Under-13 Girls (Semi Finals) Myrah Dewan beat Alena by 3-1 and Syrah beat Srishti by 3-2. In Under-13 Boys (Semi Finals) Saiyam beat Ishan by 3-0, Samar beat Ahaan by 3-2. In Under-15 Girls (Round 1) Nitya beat Smriti by 3-0, Alena beat Anvi by 3-1, Syrah beat Muskaan 3-0, Yasha beat Ridhime by 3-0, Myrah beat Dishita by 3-0 and Gunjan beat Himanika by 3-1.
In the Under-15 Boys (Round 1) Saiyam beat Pratyaksh by 3-0, Zain beat Aryaman by 3-1, Gunteg beat Mohd Mashooq by 3-0 and Samar beat Parth by 3-0. The matches were officiated by Meenu Rajesh, Asad Sharma & Ankit Sharma.
