T-20 Knockout Cricket Tourney commences

SOPORE, Dec 24: The Sopore Police Martyrs Memorial T-20 Knockout Cricket Tournament was inaugurated at Eden Park MET Ground, here today. DIG Police NKR Baramulla, Maqsood ul Zaman, and SP Sopore, Divya D, were the chief guests at the event, which features 32 teams competing for the title.
The tournament is organized to honour the brave martyrs of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, promoting a sense of community and social responsibility among the youth. DIG Baramulla, in his address, encouraged the players to uphold values of discipline, teamwork and unity while showcasing their skills. He stressed the importance of such events in bringing the youth together and fostering sportsmanship.
The inaugural match saw Lala Blues Sopore face Seer Eleven. Lala Blues Sopore won the toss and chose to field first, inviting Seer Eleven to bat. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including ASP Sopore Mir Murtaza-JKPS, SDPO Sopore Sarfaraz Bashir, and DYSP PC Wadoora Khursheed Rasool, along with other senior police officials.
