DODA, Dec 16: A T-20 cricket tournament got underway at Sports Stadium, here today.
The tournament was inaugurated by Khalid Najeeb Suharwardy (Ex Home Minister), Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda Mohd Hanif Malik, SP Ops RP Singh, Tehsildar Doda Nasir Ali Natnoo and DySP Headquarters Iftikhaar Hussain.
The first match was played between Eleven Stars Cricket Club and Doda Tigers. Doda Tigers set a target of 156 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Haqnawaz played a brilliant knock of 49 runs for his team.
For Eleven Stars, Rizwan claimed 4 wickets.
In reply, Eleven Stars could manage only 114 runs. Azhar scored 24 runs.
Sixteen teams are participating in the tournament and the matches will be played on knockout basis.
The tournament is being organized by New Siraj Cricket Club and Civil Administration, while Army, Police and other agencies have given the logistic support.
