JAMMU, Dec 31: Tacharwan Cricket Club defeated Singh Challenger CC Akhnoor by seven wickets and sailed into quarter-finals in ongoing Shaheed Lieutenant Thakur Dass Memorial Cricket Tournament, being played at Govt Higher Secondary School Akhnoor, here today.
Singh Challenger CC won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first, Singh Challenger CC scored 131runs by losing nine wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Manav scored 34 runs, whereas Atul Gupta, Stifen Sotra and Abhitash Sharma contributed 26, 16 and 17 runs respectively. From bowling side, Mukesh and Babbu shared three wickets each while Pankaj Sharma got two wickets.
In reply, Tacharwan CC chased the target by losing only three wickets in 16.1 overs and thus won the match by seven wickets. Abhi made unbeaten 62 runs while Rohit and Pankaj Sharma contributed 20 and 19 runs respectively. From bowling side, Rajinder Sharma bagged two wickets while Stifen Sotra clinched one wicket.
Abhi was declared as man of the match.
Sny Mahi & Vikas Bali were umpires and Arjun Kumar & Raman Sharma acted as scorers.
The tournament is being organized by Akhnoor Sports Club under the overall supervision of Kr SS Langeh (Gen Secy District Jammu JKCA).
