26th J&K-UT Taekwondo C’ship

JAMMU, Feb 16: On the second day of the 26th J&K-UT Taekwondo Championships 2023-24, taking place at Bhagwati Nagar Indoor Sports Complex in Jammu, featured an impressive display of combat skills by young athletes competing in the Cadet category, both male and female. There were more than 700 players of the UT competing in different weight divisions.
The Championship was held under the emblem of My Youth My Pride and was organized by J&K Taekwondo Association under the aegis of Taekwondo Federation of India and J&K Sports Council (JKSC).
Riaz Ahmed, Administrative Officer, J&K Sports Council were Chief Guest alongwith Ritika Salathia Manager, Indoor Hall Bhagwati Nagar Jammu, Ashok Kumar (Para Indian Taekwondo Coach) as Guest of Honour. Naveen Sudan (Activity Incharge JKSC), Priyanka Singh (Central Administrator OSC Mission Shakti ) and Chandeep Singh (World Taekwondo Medallists & State Awardee) were also present in the event as special guests.
The Championship was headed by Rajesh Pangotra, President JKTA and Ramesh Chandra Sharma, Secretary, JKTA. The winners of different categories were Pee-Wee Boys Under-18 Kg were Parikansh Singh of Udhampur, Sheikh Mohammad Morsi of Budgam, Mohammad Essa Chopan of Baramulla and Amaan Hussain Zarger of Kulgam. In Pee-Wee Boys Under-21 Kg; Mohammad Yaseen of Kulgam, Aayansh of Jammu and Abhinandan Singh of Udhampur. In the Pee-Wee Boys under-23 Kg event, Mohammad Ibrahim Shah of Budgam.

In Pee-Wee Boys Under 29 Kg, Mohammad Salim Dar of Baramulla, Pee-Wee Girls Under-18 Kg, Harshita Bali of Jammu, Pee-Wee Girls Under 20 Kg, Aayat Rouf of Budgam, in Pee-Wee Girls Under 22 Kg, Prashvita of Jammu, in Pee-Wee Girls Under 26 Kg, Serat Fatima of Ramban, in Pee-Wee Girls Under 29 Kg, Syed Imrat Jaan of Budgam.
