SRINAGAR, Dec 6: Best talented Kashmir based players of Martial Arts, Taekwondo, Karate and Kickboxing have been awarded in a function, organised at Polo Ground Indoor Stadium, here today.
While addressing the gathering of talented players, Khwaja Farooq Renzushah said that Kashmir is an abode of knowledge and treasure of talent. He said people of Kashmir with acknowledged physical skills from times immemorial have proved their spiritual and physical power for the welfare of humanity from the time of Laltadatiya Muktapada.
Renzushah appreciated Sheikh Muzafar and Manshash Bashir of MTC for organizing such prestigious Martial Art program of Taekwondo. He also appreciated Dr Mustafa of Scouts and Irfan for Karate performances.
He was happy to note that Manshah Bashir and Sheikh Muzafar have received coaching honour from Sports Authority of India and NSNIS, which made them capable of training Kashmiri youth in such Martial Art events. He complimented all players who participated in this program and bestowed with trophies and medals to the winning and runner-up players.
He expressed his dismay that during the last 70 years no sports infrastructure was properly established in Kashmir which deprived our youth to demonstrate their hidden Martial Art talent to the world. He said that Bakshi Stadium Indoor Hall which was built in the early eighties is not worth chicken box also and making mockery in name of sports infrastructure in Kashmir.
He was happy that now the Sports Authority of JK UT has started giving priority to original Martial Art activities in Kashmir.
Renzushah said that the Kashmir Sports Forum of Kashmir Society International will organize an International Martial Art Championships in Kashmir in next year, so that the world comes to know about the hidden Martial Art sports treasure of Kashmir.
Renzushah while distribution of trophies and medals among Martial Art players appealed to the media to prioritize the projection of these real stars of Kashmir than those who destroyed our Sufi culture of the last 700 years.
