Taiwan stocks end flat; AU jumps

TAIPEI, Sept 4: Taiwan stocks ended flat today, joining regional markets in steadying as investors saw weak global economic data raising the prospect for further stimulus from central banks.
AU Optronics, the world’s No.4 flat panel maker, jumped 4 per cent. AU is set to become Sony’s largest supplier next year, replacing Samsung, local media reported.
The main TAIEX index inched up 0.82 points to 7,451.35. Electronics shares rose 0.1 percent and financials shed 0.6 percent.
The Taiwan dollar stood at T$29.825, up by T$0.095.
Foreign investors were net buyers on Monday, bringing their  total buying to T$1.4 billion this month.
