Taj concludes Kargil tour

KARGIL, Sept 26: Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Taj Mohi-ud-Din today expressed the resolve of the Government to reach out to people in far flung and underdeveloped areas by way of development and facilities.
Addressing a well attended public meeting at Mulbek on the last leg of his three day tour to Kargil district, the Minister asked people not to feel left out as they are already on the priority list of Government. He said several State and Centrally Sponsored Schemes operating in the State are exclusively aimed at ameliorating the lot of people of these backward areas.
During his visit, the Minister also met several deputations.  Interacting with representatives of Kargil District Congress Committee and local Congressmen from blocks of Shergool, Chikthan etc areas, Mr. Taj asked them to reach out to people and help in mitigating their grievances. He asked the Congress workers to act as bridge between people and the Government.
Former CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Haji Asgar Ali Karbalai also addressed the meetings and sought people’s support in strengthening present Government.
During the tour, the Minister also laid foundation stone of Rs 6.94 crore water supply scheme at Kargil which is expected to benefit the people of Kargil town and Baro village.
Mr. Taj also reviewed the schemes and projects of the PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control Departments in a meeting with members of LAHDC, Kargil.
During the tour, Mr. Taj inaugurated a workshop at Town Hall Kargil on maintaining cleanliness of water sources organized by J&K Chapter of Communication and Capacity Development Unit (CCDU). He impressed upon people to help in maintaining and preserving the quality of water sources.
