Taj inaugurates 13th North Zone Carrom Championship

SRINAGAR, June 14: 13th North Zone Carrom Championship was inaugurated by Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Taj Mohi-ud-Din today at SP Higher Secondary School, here today.
6 States including Chandigarh, Uttranchal, Punjab, Haryana, HP and host Jammu and Kashmir are participating in this championship.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister assured the Carrom Association for providing one permanent carrom hall in each region of the State.
The Championship is being organised by J&K Carrom Association and is being sponsored by J&K State Sports Council, under the auspices of All India Carrom Federation.
Prominent among others present on occasion were SK Sharma, secretary general Carrom Fedration, Firdous Ahmad Khan, general secretary, J&K Carrom Association and Mushtaq Ahmad, Manager Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar.
Results: In women’s category; Haryana beat Uttranchal (2-1), Chandigarh defeated Punjab (3-0) and J&K drubbed Haryana (3-0), while in men’s category, Haryana blanked Punjab (3-0), Chandigarh beat J&K (3-0) and Uttranchal outplayed Punjab (3-0)
