BARAMULLA, Oct 16: Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Taj Mohiuddin this afternoon inaugurated the 9th North Kashmir Sports Festival amidst festivity and colorful start.
Minister of State for R&B, Javed Ahmad Dar was also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister lauded the role of the J&K Police in organising the sports festival and continuing with its periodicity. He hoped the festival is organised regularly and more and more players attend the festival.
The Minister said sports provides a means to develop one’s personality and urged youth to take full advantage of such events.
A colourful cultural programme was also presented on the occasion.
Around seven thousand players would fighting for titles in several disciplines.
Former legislators, Haji Abdul Rashid and Shoab Lone, ADGP, Ashok Vaid, Div Commander, 19th Infantry Div, Maj Gen Bipin Rawat, Commander, Kilo Force, Maj Gen Sarat Chand, DIG NKR, Rajesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, G. A. Khawaja, other senior officers od District administration were present on the occasion.
