JAMMU, Feb 4: The Jammu Marathon race would be held on February 17 and it would invite participation of around 25, 000 people including some 10 celebrities.
This was disclosed in an interactive meeting the Minister had with a deputation of Managing Committee of the Marathon race.
The meeting was informed that the race would start at 9 am from MAM Stadium, go through BC Road, Kachi Chawni, Parade, Gumat to finally culminate at MAM Stadium.
Appreciating the initiative, the Minister asked the organizers to attach a slogan for the marathon so that more and more people feel inclined to it.
Taj directed the Secretary, Sports Council to facilitate conduct of the race in the most hassle free manner. He assured the organizers of the race all help in making the event a success.
The Minister said Government is very keen to inculcate sports culture among youth of the State and organizing such events would go a long way in this direction. He said Government is contemplating more and more events to benefit youth. Secretary Sports Council, Daleep Thussu and representatives of Managing Committee were present in the meeting.
