KISHTWAR, Oct 18: Senior leader of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Firdous Tak has demanded immediate constitution of special task force to deal with development deficit of far-off and remote areas of Chenab Valley.
The PDP leader also favoured the outcome-based approach for the development of remote and far-off places of Chenab Valley and said it is high on his agenda to see every nook and corner getting its due share in terms of development and progress.
He said this while interacting with the people and party workers during his visits to remote villages of Nowpachi, Teller, Machna, Chainjer, Paithgam, Yurdu, Astangam and Qaderna in Kishtwar district.
“There is an immediate need to constitute a special task force for Chenab Valley to work out tangible measures to bring this neglected region out of remoteness, backwardness and to improve the living standards of the people,” Tak said, adding “It is my dream to see this region marching on the path of development, progress and prosperity”.
He said it is the high time for the State Government to form a special task force to deliver justice to the people of Chenab Valley who have been discriminated against and neglected in every sector of life by the successive National Conference-led Governments in the past.
“The special task force must be entrusted the job of looking into all problems confronting all the three districts of Chenab Valley. The focus should be laid on improving the road connectivity, ensuring quality education for children, basic health care facilities for the people and creating new job opportunities for unemployed educated youth,” the PDP MLC said.
Appreciating the PDP leadership led by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, for its special concerns towards Chenab Valley region, Tak hoped that the proposed special task force will be constituted at the earliest.
