Take DSS into confidence while discussing Kashmir issue: Charak

JAMMU, Sept 8: Former Minister and president, Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS), Gulchain Singh Charak, today asserted that DSS, an amalgam of various social, religious and traders organizations of the region be taken into confidence while discussing the Kashmir issue in any forum as any step taken without consulting the Sabha (the only representative body of Dogras) will not be acceptable to the people of Jammu region at any cost.
While addressing a press conference here today along with other Sabha members, Charak said that as per the decisions of the Working Committee of Sabha, he has called on the Governor J&K at Srinagar on September 9 to discuss the prevailing political and security situation in the State, particularly recent activities of Pakistan ISI and their supporters to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in Jammu region.
He said that keeping in mind the emerging serious situation and emergence of antinational forces, an effort is being made by the Sabha to consolidate the nationalist forces in Jammu region so that some movement to channelize these forces can be started to halt the tide of violence and antinational sentiments not only in Jammu but in whole of the State.
Charak said that in this direction Central Working Committee of the Sabha adopted some resolutions which include taking into confidence DSS while discussing the Kashmir issue in any forum, strengthening of Nationalist forces in the State in general and Jammu province in particular to counter the anti-national elements, Dogra Heritage which is in shambles be preserved properly, wasteful exercise of “Secretariat Move” after every six months be stopped and the secretariats be made functional permanently at both the capitals and proper arrangements be made for the people living near the LoC and IB to save them from the heavy shelling from across the border.
Charak disclosed that all these issues and steps taken so far will be thoroughly deliberated upon in the 114th General Council Meeting of the Sabha being held on September 12.
