DODA, Nov 22: Talent Search and basic Cricket coaching camp for the Doda girls got underway under the supervision of Rajesh Gill, former Ranji player, member Indian Cricketers Association and Apex Council member of JKCA at Green Model Higher Secondary School, here today.
About 25 girls residing in Doda and its adjoining areas are taking part in this 10 day camp. The coordinators of the camp are Saleem-Ur-Rehman, BCCI level-1 coach and Bharat Bhushan Director Sports & Fitness Hub Doda, which is being supported by OP Chandail, Chairman of the Green Model HSS Doda, whereas Sunil Kumar is the coach of the camp.
The camp was inaugurated by Rajesh Gill, former Ranji player in presence of above mentioned dignitaries and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Gill said that it is just an initiative to impart basic cricket techniques among the girls with the aim to prepare a full-fledged cricket team of Doda girls who will regularly participate in the forthcoming tournaments at Jammu or outside Jammu.
He further said that after preparing the girl team a cricket tournament will be organized here with the support of DIG Doda Kishtwar Range by inviting teams from Jammu Kashmir and other State/UTs, so that Doda girls may get exposure to hone their cricketing skills.
“A lot of cricket tournaments for the girl cricketers have been organized in Jammu & Kashmir by the Police Department and advised the participants to work hard and make cricket their career,” he asserted.
He also appreciated the parents of the cricketers for allowing them to play cricket and motivating them to choose cricket as their career.
Earlier, Bharat Bhushan presented a welcome address and apprised the guests regarding the coaching camp, while Vinad Bhandral conducted the proceedings of the inaugural ceremony.
Himanshi, Monika Singh Rana, Reyanshi Rani, Madhvi Parihar, Priyanshu Rani, Shruti Thakur, Sehar Rafiq Shah, Shreya Hiteshi, Kirti Bhan, Madhvi, Sanjana Bhutyal, Soniaya Bhutyal, Ridhima Rana, Shilpa Shan, Mahrukh Ifroz, Komal Sharma, Shanza Banoo, Komal Sharma, Suman Rajput, Darshana Devi, Geeta, Sunita Devi, Palak, Sujata and Priya Rakhwal were among the participants of the camp.
