Tanishta Club lifts Jammu City T20 Cricket Cup

JAMMU, March. 18: Tanishta Cricket Club trounced KC Sports Cricket Club by 91 runs in a one-sided contest to lift the title trophy in the Jammu City T20 Cricket Cup, organized by Jammu Police under the supervision of SDPO Perbeet Singh Parihar at Parade Ground, here.
The tournament  was organized under the Civic Action Programme of JK Police Department with the objective to provide platform for the youths of the Jammu City to exhibits their sports talent and channelize their energy.
Uttam Chand, SSP Jammu was the chief guest in the valedictory function, while S K Chouhan, SP City  Jammu was the guest of honour.
The chief guest and the other dignitaries distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams. Prominent among others who attended the function were Inspectors KK Gupta ,Surinder Pal, Sunil Sambyal, Asif Gill, Shashi Paul , Vijay Saberwal, Sanjay and Ravi Sharma.
Earlier, in the summit clash, Tanishta Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 138 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Bansi Lal  top scored with  32 runs, while  Manjeet (30) and Ishan (18) runs contributed  to the total.  Abhishek was the pick of the bowlers, who took 4 wickets, while Mohit and Siddarth claimed 2 wickets each, while Rocky took 1 wicket.
In reply, KC Sports Club collapsed at paltry 47 runs, thus lost the match by 91 runs. Arjun Choudhary was the only batsman to cross double figure mark, scoring 14 runs. For Tanishta Cricket Club, Ashu  and Yogesh  took 3 wickets each while Bunty took 2 wickets. Ramdayal and  Somay Jain claimed 1 wicket each.
Bansi Lal was adjudged man of the match, while Vivek (Babloo) of KC Sports Club was declared best bowler. Ishan of Tanishta was declared best batsman, whereas Shashi Kumar of JKP XI was declared man of the series.
In his address, SSP Jammu said that the event is a part of the Civic Action Programme of Jammu Police with an objective to provide platform to youth to exhibit their talent.
Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officer and Former Ranji Player was the coordinator of the Tournament.
The match was officiated by Sandeep, Vinod Kandayara and Nitu Khokher and the proceedings of the valedictory function were conducted by R P Singh.
