JAMMU, Mar 11: Outplaying their rivals convincingly in the semifinal clashes, Tanishta Cricket Club and K C Sports Club have qualified for the finals of the Jammu City T20 Cricket Tournament at Parade ground and will lock horns with each other at the same venue, here tomorrow.
In the first semifinal, Jammu Gymkhana defeated Tanishta Club by 8 wickets.
Earlier, batting first, Jammu Gymkhana scored a modest total of 122 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Jagandeep Singh was the top scorer with 61 runs, studded with 8 fours and 2 sixes, while Nipun contributed 33 runs with 3 boundaries. For Tanishta, Vijay Dogra and Gokul Baru bagged 2 wickets each.
Tanishta Club chased the target in 16.3 overs, scoring 128 runs by losing 2 wickets to win the match by 8 wickets. Ishan top scored with 63 runs, while Ashu contributed 35 runs and Ramdayal chipped in with 18 runs. For Jammu Gymkhana, Sahil and Sunny claimed one wicket each. Ishan was declared man of the match.
In another match, KC Sports Club trounced JKP XI by 4 wickets. Batting first, JKP XI collapsed at 90 runs in 18.2 overs, with Shashi contributing maximum 34 runs. For KCSC, Vivek took 4 wickets, while Abhishek and Mohit bagged 2 wickets each and Sushil and Rocky claimed one wicket each.
KCSC chased the target easily in 17.5 overs by losing 6 wickets to win the match by 4 wickets. Vivek Singh top scored with 32 runs, while Mohit and Shankar contributed 17 and 14 runs to the total respectively. For JKP XI, Ashwani Bhat captured 4 wickets, while Raman Dutta and Rajesh Gill claimed one wicket each. Vivek (Bablu) of KCSC was adjudged man of the match for taking 4 wickets.
