Tanya Rao slams ton as Saurashtra thrashes J&K by 141 runs

JAMMU, Feb 20: Tanya Rao scored a splendid century as Saurashtra defeated Jammu and Kashmir by a huge margin of 141 runs in the ongoing Women’s Cricket Under-19 One Day Tournament at Goa Cricket Association ground, Porvorium in Goa.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Saurashtra scored a good total of 199 runs in 50 overs by losing 9 wickets. Tanya Rao scored 105 runs off 118 balls, studded with 16 magnificent boundaries, while T Dharani and Hirva V contributed 24 and 13 runs to the total respectively. Extras also contributed 33 runs. From Jammu and Kashmir, skipper Sonika took 4 wickets, while Sadiya Wani and Khushboo Aftab bagged 2 wickets each.
In reply, J&K bundled out for meagre 58 runs in 24.3 overs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 141 runs. Lalita (20) and Rudrakshi Chib (11) were the main scorers. From Saurashtra, T Dharani and Hirva V took 2 wickets each, while h Rathod and Sujan Sama shared one wicket each.
With this win, Saurashtra earned 4 points, while J&K failed to secure any point.
