JAMMU, Mar 19: To promote adventure sports and foster the holistic development of youth, Director General Youth Services and Sports (YSS) J&K, Rajinder Singh Tara, flagged off a contingent of 141 students and 15 officials for the District-Level Trekking Camp at Mansar. The group, consisting of 10 females and 5 males from 14 zones of district Jammu, will embark on a five-day trekking adventure.
Tara emphasized that the camp at Mansar would provide the students with an opportunity to connect with nature, build resilience, develop teamwork, and exchange cultural experiences. He reiterated that the Department of Youth Services and Sports is dedicated to providing platforms for youth to explore their potential and face challenges.
The trekkers are accompanied by experienced officials to ensure safety. Deputy Director YSS, Jitender Mishra, and District Youth Services Officer, Sukhdev Raj Sharma, also expressed support for the initiative, highlighting its importance in shaping youth development.
