SAMBA, Feb 7: Director General of Youth Services and Sports (DG-YSS) J&K, Rajinder Singh Tara, flagged off a 54-member trekking contingent from Samba to Patnitop, here today.
During his tour of Samba district, he also visited the proposed site for a new Youth Hostel in Bela, Samba and reviewed the infrastructure at Rani Suchet Singh Sports Stadium and Indoor Complex at Arazi.
Tara was accompanied by senior YSS officials, including Joint Director YSS, Ved Parkash, Deputy Director Central Jitender Mishra, Deputy Director Planning Ravi Kumar Sharma and others. At the proposed Youth Hostel site, Tara urged the authorities to expedite the land transfer process to kick-start the project, which is expected to enhance youth activities in the area.
DG-YSS inspected the existing facilities and inquired about further infrastructural needs. He expressed satisfaction with the progress of ongoing sports development projects, emphasizing the importance of building state-of-the-art infrastructure for fostering young talent.
He reaffirmed the Jammu and Kashmir Government’s commitment to developing top-tier sports facilities across the region, ensuring sports infrastructure growth to promote a sports culture in every corner of the UT.
