Kolkata, May 8: In order to ensure steady supply of its essential products, Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (TCPL), has strengthened its direct distribution model by partnering with India’s most popular food delivery applications such as Domino’s Pizza and Zomato.
These channel partnerships have been done in a phased manner, with Flipkart, e-commerce marketplace being the first to enable the availability of its essential products in Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Delhi.
On Domino’s app, this service will be available under “Domino’s Essentials” for consumers in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata. Zomato is currently operational in 60 + cities pan India enabling Tata Consumer’s products to reach consumers across the country.
In an alternate distribution model, Tata Consumer Products’ distributors will list as marketplace sellers on Flipkart, Domino’s Pizza, Zomato and other platforms. Consumers can buy packets including varied combo packs of essential products such as TCPL foods (Tata Salt, Tata Sampann Spices, Pulses, and Nutri mixes) and beverages (Tata Tea and Coffee) using any of the platforms.
Tata Consumer’s delivery partners will fulfil the orders by picking up the orders from Tata Consumer company distributors and deliver it to the consumer’s doorstep. The product combinations have been specially curated keeping in mind the specific needs of Indian consumers, while also offering them significant cost benefits.
This partnership between Tata Consumer Products and delivery partners has created a unique distribution model, leveraging their combined strengths to solve Indian consumers’ need for access to essential commodities as they stay indoors and practice social distancing amidst the national lockdown.
Sunil D’Souza, MD & CEO, Tata Consumer Products Ltd. said: “Through these partnerships, Tata Consumer Products intends to safeguard people’s health by giving them alternate channels to buy our food and beverage offerings.
They can now purchase our products from the safety and comfort of home. The partnerships leverage complementary strengths to ensure essential products reach the doorsteps of consumers who need them.” Additionally, Tata Consumer Products has also started the delivery of its food products through its own nutrition and e-commerce platform, Tata NutriKorner in two phases. Certain pincodes in Delhi have already been activated as part of phase one, later phases will cover the whole of Delhi in a couple of weeks. (UNI)
