JAMMU, Sept 5: To recognize and honour the outstanding contribution and dedication of late Narinder Singh Salathia towards Tawi Trekkers, J&K the club has instituted an annual dedication Award in his memory to be named “Narinder Singh Dedication Award”.
This was decided in a meeting of the club organized under the Chairmanship of Ashwani Sharma, a former MLA and Patron of the club. The members were greatly shocked to know about the sudden demise of Narinder Singh who was an inspiration to the young members because of his selfless hard work and the passion to do any sort of work for the club.
Ram Khajuria, President of the club recounted the achievements and contribution of Narinder Singh, a trained mountaineer. Zorawar Singh Jamwal, Co- Chairman of the club shared his sweet memories of Narinder Singh when both used to be Camp Leaders of the Dalhousie Chamba Trekking Programme organized by the club during the nineties.
Prominent among others who paid homage to Narinder Singh included patron of the club Rahul Sharma; Vice President Mridhu Padha; General Secretary Shawetica Khajuria, Senior members Vivek Chauhan, Navneet Gupta, Sumit Singh and Rajinder Sharma.
