JAMMU, Apr 17: The Business School
(TBS) prevailed over the Department of Sociology by 8 wickets to advance in to the next round of the Inter-Department Cricket Tournament, being organized by the University of Jammu at Varsity grounds, here.
Batting first, Sociology Department scored a modest total of 98 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Yawar and Aditya scored 19 runs each, while Azhar contributed 17 runs to the total. Ansh and Vishab bagged 2 wickets each for TBS, while Pankaj claimed one.
In reply, TBS scored the required total in 8.2 overs by losing 2 wickets, thus won the match by 8 wickets. Vishab top scored with 38 runs, while Reetesh and Pankaj contributed 29 and 19 runs to the total respectively. Shahbaz was the successful bowler for Sociology Department, claiming one wicket.
The match was officiated by Jagtar Singh, Raj Kumar Bakshi and Manu Khajuria.
