TDC organizes symposium on ‘Preservation of Ozone Layer’

JAMMU, Sept 21: An impressive symposium was held at Trikuta Degree College (TDC) Nardani Raipur on Friday wherein the stress was laid on the preservation of the ozone layer, a fragile shield of gas that protects the Earth from the harmful portion of the rays of the sun.
Dr Sinthal Kumar Sharma, DFO Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion, while Ravish Sharma MD, Shri Sain Charitable Trust presided over the function and Sushil Sharma was the guest of honour.
The symposium was organised by the College in collaboration with J&K Directorate of Environment and Remote Sensing, Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Sinthal Kumar informed the gathering about the threat of depleting ozone layer. He also highlighted the importance and significance of the ozone layer that protects the environment and living beings and plants from the harmful effects of ultra-violet rays of the Sun.
Principal Trikuta Degree College, PK Koul also threw light on depleting ozone layer.
Nagina Bhat, Shanani and Priyanka Choudhary who stood 1st, IInd and IIIrd respectively were presented mementos by the chief guest and other dignitaries.
