BHADERWAH, Jan 23: The members of Thathri Develop-ment Front (TDF) have appealed Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Minister for Education, Mohammad Altaf Bukhari to sanction a Degree College for tehsils Kahara and Chiralla.
“Many Government employees and Army personnel of these tehsils have kept their families at Head Quarter Thathri for the education of their children. This has caused great scarcity of accommodation and the rent rates are higher than even those at Jammu, Doda or Kishtwar”, the TDF members alleged, adding how the poor students who want to continue their higher studies, can afford such high rents in addition to other essential expenses.
They further said that Kahara and Chiralla are the most backward and remote tehsils of Inderwal and Bhaderwah constituencies of the State. Therefore, a Degree College should be established at some central place between Inderwal and Bhaderwah constituencies, which is accessible to students of both the tehsils.
