Teacher attacks wife with axe, chops off ear

MENDHAR, June 23: A Government teacher allegedly attacked his wife with axe, causing her serious injuries at village Chhunga in tehsil Mendhar early today.
A police spokesman said that incident took place at village Chhunga in the morning. Teacher Gulzar Ahmed, son of Mohd Aziz, allegedly attacked wife with axe when she was sleeping. Her ear was nearly chopped off. He also attacked on her arm and neck but she resisted and raised alarm. The other members rushed and rescued Tazeem Akhtar (28). They rushed her to Mendhar Hospital with injuries. The police registered case FIR No. 87/ 2014 against the accused. The police was looking for the teacher, who is posted in Govt Primary School, Danna Pir.
