POONCH, Sept 17: A Master grade teacher, posted in Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Sheesh Mehal, Poonch has been placed under suspension by Director School Education Jammu and booked by police for sexual harassment of a girl student of class IX of the same school.
Official sources said that CEO Poonch Lal Hussain after receiving written complaint from the parents of the girls and the victim studying in class 9th, initiated preliminary inquiry by deputing two Principals of different schools. After receiving report from the CEO, the Director School Education placed the Master Daljit Singh, son of Alam Singh, posted in Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Poonch under suspension vide order No. 534-DSEJ of 2015, dated 16-9-2015.
The Director Education, taking serious note of the matter also directed the Joint Director SSA, Mohd Iqbal to hold detailed inquiry into the matter after visiting the same school at Poonch and recording statements of the victim and other girl students for taking further departmental action against the accused teacher.
Meanwhile, the police has also registered a case FIR No. 133/ 2015 against the teacher Daljit Singh for molestation/ sexual harassment of the girl student of GHSS, Poonch. The police was looking for the absconding teacher.
