JAMMU, Dec 17: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today called upon the teachers and parents to work in close coordination to foster the future of children so that they become responsible and successful citizens in life.
Addressing an impressive function on the occasion of annual day function of Bhagwati Haqiqat Memorial Public High School at Barnai near here today, the Minister said that teachers and parents have greater role to play in shaping the career of the children in such a way that they contribute for making the nation proud and stronger after finishing their studies.
“Today’s child is future’s hero, leader, politician, scientist, law luminary and sportsperson who will make the nation proud with his/her contribution in different fields, and this can only be possible if they are nurtured and groomed appropriately with the sincere efforts of both parents and teachers”, said the Minister.
Maintaining that only quality education is not enough for the overall development of the child, the Minister called upon the teachers to focus on extracurricular activities like moral education, social, sports activities which will help the youth in channelizing their energy in social transformation and eradicating the evils from the society. Moral ethos is degrading fast from the society under the influence of westernization, and it is need of the hour to promote the rich values and traditions amongst the youth to make the society progressive and prosperous, Bali asserted.
In Jammu and Kashmir, the private institutions are playing vital role in providing quality education and supplementing the Government efforts in improving the literacy rate, especially in the rural and far-flung areas. He said it is endeavor of the Government to promote the private set up so that it grows tremendously and spread the education in every nook and corner of the state to ensure it at the doorstep of the students. He said education is key to the development and prosperity of society, and government will take every possible step to strengthen it further.
The students presented a bonanza of mesmerizing performance of theme based cultural display that enthralled the audience.
The Minister gave away prizes to the participants who excelled in different activities.
