Team 360 lifts maiden Women’s Uri Premier League title

URI, Dec 22: In the final clash between Team 360 and Army Goodwill School at Uri in the first-ever Uri Premier League for girls, Team 30 remained victorious.
In a ground-breaking initiative towards Women’s Empowerment in the Kashmir valley, the cricket league not only showcased exceptional talent but also paved the way for aspiring young women cricketers to shine on a significant platform.
Chief Guest on this occasion was Asifa Tabasum, BDC, Chairperson Paranpillan. In a thrilling contest, Team 360 emerged victorious, clinching the championship title in a closely fought match against Team Army Goodwill School, Uri. The level of sportsmanship and the display of cricketing prowess by these young women exemplified the spirit of the URI Premier League. Player of the Tournament was Neelam Javed, Team 360, Uri; Best Bowler was Basara, Army Goodwill School, Uri; Best Batswoman was Nahida Tarif, Team 360, Uri; Best Fielder was Falak Safi, Army Goodwill School, Uri and Player of the Match was Neelam Javed, Team 360, Uri.
The Women’s URI Premier League is an initiative by the Indian Army to empower young women in the Kashmir valley through the sport of cricket. It aims to provide a platform for talent recognition and promote gender inclusivity in sports, fostering a culture of empowerment and excellence among the youth.
