JAMMU, Oct 1: Trouncing their rivals convincingly in the summit clashes, Team Lillies, Team Green, Team Sharp Shooters and Team Rink Warriors lifted the Under-11, Sub Junior, Women and Men title trophies respectively, in the 8th Jammu District Roll Ball Championship, which concluded at MA Stadium, here.
The Championship was organized by J&K Roll Ball Association under the aegis of J&K State Sports Council.
Over 150 skaters comprising 20 teams participated in the tournament.
In Under-11 Girls, Team Lilies defeated Team Lotus to clinch the titles in Sub Junior boys, Team Green defeated Team Blue to emerge winners. Aysel, Prarchi, Tanishka, Ishani, Kritika, Pranvi, Moulik, Antriksh, Aamyaa, Shabad, Aryan and Rudhra Partap were the star performers. The senior section saw tough fight amongst all the teams comprising of many international players
In the senior women section, Team Sharp Shooters drubbed Roller Divas by three goals to two (3-2), while in Men Section, Team Rink Warriors defeated Young Lions 7-4.
Subah Mehta, Deputy Director Tourism was the chief guest on the occasion, who along with senior International players including Simran Raina and others interacted with the players and distributed the prizes among winners of junior sections.
The gesture of the Association to involve international players in the valedictory function was applauded by all present on the occasion.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Madan Khajuria, Krishan Kumar, Rajinder Kumar, Rajinder Khajuria, Vishali Bougal and Rita Rehan. Satish Koul was the commentator.
Sudhir Singh was the Organizing Secretary of the tournament, while Madhu Sharma, General Secretary of the Association supervised the whole event and presented vote of thanks.
Anil Sharma, Chairman of the Association has lauded the efforts of the organizers for holding the event in a professional way.
