JAMMU, Jan 5: Screening of the UT level Fencing team was conducted by J&K Sports Council for the upcoming 24th Sub Junior Under-14 Fencing Championship at Indoor Fencing Hall, M.A Stadium, here today.
The screening committee headed by Ashok Singh, DSO along with Satish Gupta, Manager Indoor Sports Complex, Bhanu Pratap Singh, Member Council and Rashid Ahmed, Convener JK Amateur Fencing Association.
The team is going to participate in 24th Sub Junior National Fencing Championship scheduled to be held at Ernakulum, Kochi Kerala from January 10 to 13, wherein 24 fencers (12 boys and 12 girls) were selected.
Ujjwal Gupta and Rajan Prashar will accompany the team as coaches, while Maninder Pal Singh and Surjeet Kour will join the team as managers.
In epee boys, Saais ur Rehman, Aradhay Vasu Sharma, Daksh Verma and Rinku Manhas, while for sabre boys, the team members were Dhananjay Pandit, Harnidh Singh, Manik Sharma and Sev Karan Singh and for foil boys, Harsh Dubey, Rohan Prashar, Prabav Verma and Raghav Choudhary were screened, besides for girls epee, Mannasvi, Kaushar Parveen, Praditi Sharma and Aarushi, for foil girls: Mayra Rajput, Nandini Devi, Myra Singh and Kavya Rajput and for sabre girls, Antalya Jamwal, Sabrena Choudhary, Eknoor Kour and Shrija Bali were screened.
