Teams show quietude, composure to enter QFs

JAMMU, Oct 25: The teams of various Colleges show composure and promise to enter the quarterfinals as the pre-quarterfinal matches were played in the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Volleyball (Men) Tournament 2017-18, being organized by the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu at its Sports Stadium, here.
Earlier, in the pre-quarterfinals played today, GDC Hiranagar outplayed GDC Paloura by (2-0); SPMR College of Commerce trounced GDC Billawar by (2-0); GDC Samba outclassed GDC Bhaderwah by (2-0); GDC Akhnoor drubbed GDC Mendhar by (2-1); GDC Udhampur defeated IMS Patoli by (2-0); GGM Science College prevailed over GDC Rajouri by (2-0) and MAM College got the better of PG Department by (2-0) sets.
The pre-quarterfinal round matches were inaugurated by Prof Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Director, Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu. He interacted with the players of GDC Hiranagar and GDC Paloura in the first match today.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Anil Kumar, Manish Charak, Balbir Singh Chib, Ashwani Bali, Vijay Kumari, Khushbir Singh, Amit Jamwal, Sumnesh Sharma, Ravish Vaid, Jai Bharat and Vikas Karlopia.
The matches were officiated by Naresh Kumar, Amit Sharma, Mulkh Raj, Manik Nargotra and Amarjeet Singh.
