JAMMU, Apr 5: The outstanding batting of 80 runs by Tejas helped Mehboob Cricket Club (MCC) to beat Elite Cricket Club (ECC) in the ongoing Cricket for Excellence of 50 over League Cricket tournament for U-19 boys, being played at Country Cricket Stadium Gharota, here today.
Batting first, MCC scored 274 runs with the contributions of Tejas’s 80 runs along with Mohsin’s 40 and Vikartan unbeaten 35 runs. Manoj and Eshan contributed 31 & 25 runs respectively. From the bowling side, Utkarsh Gupta claimed 3 wickets,Vasu Lamba took 2 wickets and Mantivya, Aditya Abrol, Atul and Siddharth took 1 wicket each.
In reply, ECC bundled out at 221 runs in 38.5 overs and lost the match by 53 runs wherein Mantivya and Aditya Abrol scored 85 and 69 runs respectively. For MCC, Tejas, Manoj and Nishant clinched 4, 3 and 2 wickets respectively, while Vikrant Singh claimed 1 wicket. Tejas was declared as the man of the match for his overall performance.
