DODA, Aug 25: District level day & night Tennis Ball Cricket Championship, being organized by Chenab Cultural and Sports Club was inaugurated today by ACD Doda Idris Lone at Sports Stadium, here.
The inaugural match was played between Friends Doda and Mehran Club wherein Mehran Club won the toss and elected to bat first. Mehran Club scored 54 runs in which Riyaz made highest 35 runs, whereas from bowling side, Umar Shafi took three wickets.
In reply, Friends Doda chased the target easily wherein Sehran Riaz scored 44 runs in just 10 balls, studded with seven sixes and registered nine wickets win over Mehran Club.
Organizer of the tournament, Dawood Wani said that the main objective of the tournament was to stay the youth away from the drug menace.
