Thaploo retires from all forms of Cricket

JAMMU, May 27: The well-known cricket player Raman Thaploo has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket after playing for Jammu and Kashmir Cricket.
Raman Thaploo has written to Brig Anil Gupta, Member-Administration JKCA, stating that after a 24-year cricket career that began at MA Stadium in 2000, he is retiring from all forms of cricket.
Thaploo is proud to be representing Jammu and Kashmir in various cricket tournaments for different age groups, including the U-16 Boys Vijay Merchant Trophy, U-19 Men’s Cooch Behar & Vinoo Mankad Trophy, Men’s U-22 CK Nayudu Trophy, prestigious Senior Men’s Vijay Hazare Trophy, and Ranji Trophy.
“The journey has been a prolonged one with highs and lows and the high was to be part of J&K Senior Men’s Ranji Trophy team in the year 2019-20. Today I bid adieu to the sport I loved the most,” maintained Raman.
He extended thanks to his family, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), his friends and especially to his mother Rajni Thaploo, his coach Randhir Singh Manhas and the members of his Club, Kishen Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) for believing in him and giving him ample opportunities to play at the Club and higher levels.
Raman has the honour of producing some remarkable performances at the Club level and in junior level at the national scene. “Playing for KCCC paved my way towards representing the State team. Each match and every practice session taught me a lesson, which will help me in the second innings of my cricket career. I promise to be associated with the game and nurture the young talent in the country. Whatever this beautiful game has given me I will leave no stone unturned to give it back in every way possible. I once again extend my thanks to JKCA and BCCI,” stared Raman in a letter addressed to the Member-Administration JKCA.
