KATRA, June 11: Police have arrested a thief for stealing mobile phones worth more than Rs 4 lakh and cash of a pilgrim at Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan, here today.
The arrest was made on complaint of the pilgrim, namely Narinder Bahuder Singh, son of Shiv Shankar Singh of Jaunpur (Uttar Pradesh) who reported at Police Station Bhawan that his four mobile phones and cash of Rs 2500 were stolen when he along with his family had gone for taking bath at the Bhawan bathing Ghat.
After registration of a case FIR number 08/2023, under Section 379 IPC, an investigation was started by a special team, headed by SHO Bhawan Khyatimaan Khajuria, under the supervision SDPO Bhawan Bhisham Dubey.
After strenuous efforts, the Police team apprehended the accused person and recovered the stolen mobile phones as well as cash of Rs 2500. The arrested accused was identified as Joginder Singh, son of Payar Singh, resident of Meer Panchari, District Udhampur.
