Thief arrested, Rs 88500 cash recovered

RAMBAN, June 9: Batote Police arrested a thief along with Rs 88,500 cash.
As per police sources, on June 7 this year a complaint was lodged by a person namely Suresh Kumar, son of Hari Ram of Champa with Police Station Batote stating that some unknown person had stolen his ATM card from his house and had allegedly withdrawn Rs 1,03,000 from his account.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 130/2022 under Section 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Batote and investigation set into motion.
During the course of investigation, a special team was constituted to identify and nab the accused person.
After rounding up various suspects and with the help of technical aid & CCTV footages, the special team arrested the accused.
The accused was identified as Sunil Kumar, son of Bodh Raj of Haldnoo Thopal Batote District Ramba.
From his possession, the stolen ATM card and cash amounting to Rs 88,500 were recovered.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by PSI Amit Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Batote Inspector Rakesh Jamwal, DySP Headquarters Pardeep Singh Sen and SP Ramban Mohita Sharma.
