Thief arrested, stolen items recovered

JAMMU, Oct 10: Bhatindi police arrested a thief and recovered stolen items from his possession.
As per police sources, on August 30 this year, a complaint was lodged by Baljeet Singh, son of Rajinder Singh of Zee TV Nagar with Bathindi Police Post stating that some unidentified persons entered into his house and decamped with domestic articles including LED, LCD, refrigerator, TV, voltage stabilizer, batteries, gas cylinder, gas burner, rice cooker and carpet, when he along with his family were not present at home.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 201/17 under Sections 457 and 380 RPC was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
During investigation many suspects were rounded up and finally the thief was arrested, who has been identified as Bashir Ahmed, son of Shabaz Ali, a resident of Jakhani, district Udhampur.
On his disclosure, the stolen property including 5 LEDs/LCDs, 2 refrigerators, 1 TV, 3 voltage stabilizers, 5 batteries, 5 gas cylinders, 1 gas burner, 1 rice cooker and 3 carpets were recovered from his possession.
Further investigation of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by Incharge Bhatindi Police Post SI Mohammad Irfan made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Bharat Sharma, SDPO East Arun Jamwal and SP South Sandeep Choudhary.
