JAMMU, Oct 24: Khour police under ‘Operation Meghdoot’ arrested a thief and recovered stolen items from his possession.
As per police sources, on October 15 this year, a complaint was lodged by Chander Shekhar, son of Thakur Dass of Nikian Marchangi with Khour Police Station stating that some unknown person had stolen his mobile phone Samsung J-2 alongwith charger.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 77/17 was registered at Police Station Khour and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, several suspects were rounded up and out of them one of the suspects broke down and confessed that he had committed the theft.
Police arrested the thief, who has been identified as Ganesh Raj, son of Harbans Lal of Tibba Dhallan tehsil Khour.
During further questioning, the thief admitted his involvement in one more theft case registered under FIR Number 78/17 with Police Station Khour.
On his disclosure, police recovered the stolen items including gold ornaments, LED and mobile phone.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by SHO Khour SI Jeet Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Munish Anand and SP Rural Shivdeep Singh.
