JAMMU, July 7: Police have arrested a thief and recovered stolen vehicles from his possession.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged at Police Station Pacca Danga regarding theft of scooty from Mubarak Mandi area.
Acting over the complaint, a case under relevant section was registered at Police Station Pacca Danga and investigation started.
During the course of the investigation, a team from Police Station Pacca Danga led by SHO Inspector Raghubir Singh and assisted by Incharge Police Post Panjtirthi PSI Rahul Sharma was constituted under the supervision of SDPO North Sharad Kalu.
The team did strenuous efforts and by connecting various leads finally arrested the thief, who was identified as Dheeraj Singh alias Kaka, son of Deepak Singh of Kanji House Gumat District Jammu, at present Indra Nagar.
During questioning, the accused confessed his involvement in the above case and on his disclosure stolen scooty was recovered. Moreover, 5 more stolen scooties bearing were also recovered.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
