Thief arrested within 24 hrs, stolen items recovered

JAMMU, Oct 23: Bishnah police arrested a thief within 24 hours and recovered stolen items from his possession.
As per police sources, yesterday a complaint was lodged by Suraj Parkash, son of Chuni Lal, a resident of Upper Kanal with Bishnah Police Station stating that during the intervening night of October 21 and 22, some unidentified persons barged into his general store and decamped with  daily use items.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 227/17 under Sections 457 and 380 RPC was registered at Bishnah Police Station and hunt was launched to nab the accused.
During the course of investigation, police picked up several suspects and out of them, one of the suspects broke down and confessed that he had committed the theft.
Police arrested the thief, who has been identified as Ramesh Lal alias Killu, son of Munshi Ram, a resident of Chak Avtara, tehsil Bishnah. On his disclosure, the stolen items were also recovered.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by SHO Bishnah Inspector PP Singh solved the theft case within 24 hours and arrested the accused under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Choudhary and SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
