Thieves arrested for stealing bag, withdrawing cash from ATM

JAMMU, Aug 11: Bus-Stand police arrested two thieves for stealing a bag and later withdrawing cash worth Rs 1 lakh from the ATM of the owner.
As per police sources, on August 4, Gurdeep Singh Bali, a resident of House Number 90, Sector Number 1, Channi Himmat Colony, lodged a complaint with Bus-Stand police station regarding theft of his bag containing passport, certificates, ATM, etc of his daughter.
The complainant in his complaint also stated that the thieves had withdrawn Rs 1 lakh from his ATM.
Acting on the complaint, a case under FIR Number 34/15 under Section 379 RPC was registered at Bus Stand police station and manhunt was launched to nab the accused.
After watching the CCTV footage, police team traced out the accused and on specific information about the presence of the accused in Srinagar, police team from Bus Stand police station conducted a raid in Nagam area of Tehsil Damal Hangipura, district Kulgam and arrested two thieves.
The accused have been identified as Aijaz Ahmed, son of Gulam Ahmed Malik and Shabir Ahmed, son of Gul Mohammad Sofi.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Inspector Paramjeet Singh made the arrest under the supervision of DySP City Perbeet Singh Parihar, SP City Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan and Incharge SSP Jammu Rajiv Pandey.
