UDHAMPUR, Nov 19: Nikhil Sharma, a soldier of 3- JAK Li and native of village Rathian, who died at Kupwara yesterday after an avalanche hit Army post, was cremated here today with military honour.
Thousands of people, Policemen and Army personnel bid tearful adieu to the soldier when his mortal remains were consigned to flames.
Earlier, the dead body was brought to the native village where a large number of people had already assembled for paying their last respect to the departed soul.
As already reported, Nikhil had died yesterday when an avalanche hit Army post near the Line of control in Tangdhar area of North Kashmir.
