DODA, July 18: Thousands of devotees participated in the holy Trishul Baint Yatra of Mata Chandi, which was flagged off here today from Dak Bungalow to Chinote, Bhaderwah.
Deputy Commissioner, Doda, Bhupinder Kumar, along with SSP Doda, Shabir Khatana and ADC Mohammad Hanief Malik flagged off the yatra this morning. The Charri (Trishul) was taken by Sthapak Vimal Kumar Jain.

Tehsildar, Doda, Nasir Ali Natnoo, ARTO Zubair Ahmed, CEO 10 RR, Major Atul Singh, heads of line departments, besides a large gathering of people was present at the flag off ceremony.
Devotees from all over erstwhile district Doda and Jammu along with Charri reached Chandi Mata Mandir, Chinote, Bhaderwah in hundreds of vehicles while chanting hyms and slogans of Mata Chandi, after passing through Pul Doda, Bhalla, Seri, Drudu.
Elaborated security arrangements were made by local administration for the smooth and peaceful Yatra. A common langer was also organized by the Yatra Committee in Chandi Mata temple, Chinote. After performing the traditional rituals and Yagya, Yatra returned to Doda.
It is notable that the same Trishul (Holy Mala) shall be taken from Chandi Mata Temple, Chinote to Machial (Padder) in the month of August. The Machial Yatra that is earning fame for the last more than two decades, has been attracting tourists and pilgrims in thousands not only from the J&K but also from other parts of India, and is considered as a holy religion celebration in erstwhile district Doda.
