UDHAMPUR, Jan 20: Police today arrested three bovine smugglers and recovered eight milch animals from their possession.
Police spokesman said that, during routine checking, CRPF and Police intercepted two Srinagar bound Mahindra load carriers bearing registration numbers JK03C-9957 and JK03C-4834 at Karal Nallah, Kud.
He said that drivers of both the vehicles sped up the vehicles and tried to flee but were chased and stopped at Kassar Morh.
During checking, police recovered 8 milch animals and arrested three smugglers identified as Showket Ahmed, son of Gulam Mohd, Saraj Ahmed, son of Gulam Mohd Mir and Shakeel Ahmed son of Ali Mohd, all residents of Quazikund, Srinagar.
A case under FIR number 8/13 under Section 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act has been registered and investigation started.
